Arróniz gallery is presenting Apparitions, work by gallery artist Nicola López. Coinciding with Gallery Weekend Mexico City, her work will be on view through October. An excerpt from the exhibition statement:

"Apparitions are 'seen' but don't exactly 'exist' as physical realities. They may be envisioned, dreamed, or peripherally sensed but lack tangible substance. An Apparition doesn't merely inhabit the mind but always appears superimposed on the external world. By making its appearance in the world we generally trust to be 'real', an Apparition claims a sort of truth and resists being dismissed, denied or easily forgotten. Even if it isn't physically part of our here-and-now, an Apparition might be a manifestation of another sort of truth emerged from some other time, place or plane as it intrudes for a moment upon ours."
